Karbala Precast undertook a challenging job with STX of Korea www.stx.co.kr/Front for the design, manufacturing, transportation and site installation of two new major high quality Precast fences in Kerbela and Diwaniyah at Central Iraq. The project was based on fast track agreement to fully manage a contract that has 2226 Pre Cast element in 86 calendar days. The project is now fully completed, has been handed over to STX then to the end user THE Iraqi Ministry Of Electricity during August 2012.

1 - Inauguration of The First Phase of ICOEEP
On Sunday, 12/02/2012, the Iraqi P.M. Nuri Al-Maliki inaugurated the first phase of Iraq Crude Oil Expedition Export Project (ICOEEP) in Al-Fao Oil Depot, Basra. Al-Fayha Group is contributing in this central project by undertaking civil works with Leighton Co. Al-Fayha Groups’ civil works consist of earth work, soil improvement, manufacturing, transporting and installation of Precast Concrete “Sleepers”, sheet piling and supply of Ready Mix Concrete.
The (ICOEEP) consists of 4 sections;
1. The extension of a pipeline the size of 48 knots from the pumping stations in Al-Zubair to Al-Fao oil deport for a distance of 130 km;
2. The Building of 64 additional reservoirs in Al-Fao to increase storage capacity;
3. The erection of 5 floating platforms to support the Iraqi oil ports and to increase export capacity and
4. Linking these platforms across 3sea-pipes with Al-Fao oil depot.
This floating oil-port will add 850 to 900 thousand barrels to the current daily export capacity of one million seven hundred and fifty thousand barrels.

2 - The Polystyrene Factory
Al-Fayha Group is proud to announce the completion of development-work of its Cork-Insulation production lines. The high quality of our cork-insulators competes with foreign products and meets the demands of our local market.
Al-Fayha Group is a pioneer in operating a fully integrated production line of Cork-blocks, size (4x1x0.5)m, where they are offered in different sizes according to customer’s needs. The cork is used as thermal insulation and as concrete partitions. In addition, the factory has a production line for Cooling boxes. They come in three different sizes. The cooling boxes are used in the prefabricated building as thermal and acoustic insulators.

3 - The Basra Sport City
Al-Fayha Group has played a major role in the construction boom in the Basra province and the central provinces, through the supply of high-quality products.
Al-Fayha Group is currently fabricating 18 m³ precast water tanks to assist the main contactor in his landscaping design implementation.
Their purpose is to water shrubs around the stands of the main stadium and other venues, providing green and pleasant surroundings to the stadium. This highlights the contribution of Al-Fayha to modernize the Basra Sport City through active participation in the provision of all concrete product

Norway’s Statoil (STL.OS) is intending to sell its stake in Iraq’s supergiant West Qurna phase-2 oil field in southern Iraq to Russia’s Lukoil (LUKOY). Statoil and Lukoil were awarded a 20-year service contract for West Qurna Phase-2 in Iraq’s second licensing round held in December 2009. The companies promised to get the southern field pumping at a rate of 1.8 million barrels a day for payment of $1.15 a barrel. Statoil holds 18.75% stake in West Qurna Phase-2 project, with Lukoil holding 56.25% and Iraq’s state oil company the remaining 25%.Sabah al-Saadi, deputy head of the oil ministry’s Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Directorate, said the ministry wouldn’t reject the sale. “Lukoil is a qualified company through the oil ministry and it is the operator of West Qurna Phase-2.” He said, however, the ministry hasn’t yet received a formal letter from Statoil to sell its stake to Lukoil. “We are partners on the West Qurna-2 project with Lukoil,” Statoil spokesman Baard Glad Pedersen told AFP, adding that Statoil doesn’t comment on speculation about adjustments to its portfolio. It is not clear yet what has motivated Statoil to look to leave West Qurna-2. Iraq and Lukoil awarded last week a $998 million oil field service contract to South Korea’s Samsung Engineering to build a first processing facility at the field with a production capacity of 400,000 barrels a day. Lukoil awarded last August a contract to Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) to drill 23 new wells in the field. West-Qurna-2 is a green field that has yet to produce any oil.
